Our Approach
Y-NEEW was founded in 1998 by eight like-minded young social work graduates from the Madras School of Social Work, Chennai.
We believe that lasting development happens when people themselves become active participants in shaping their communities and their future.
Our work extends across 162 hamlets and slum communities in 25 panchayats in Dindigul, Sanarpatti and Nilakottai Blocks of Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu.
To empower disadvantaged communities through their meaningful and holistic participation, enabling them to develop their socio-economic potential, utilise their resources sustainably and progressively become self-sufficient.
To promote practical, innovative and sustainable approaches that are socially inclusive, economically viable, environmentally responsible and participatory.
